City of London tops Earnings League

Analysis carried out by the GMB union has shown that workers in London receive the higest average salary in the country, with £41,000 being the norm. Within London, the City is the highest paid individual area with an average salary of £82,084.

At the opposite end of the scale, Blaenau Gwent in Wales has an average salary of just over £21,000. The analysis was based on figures produced by the Office of National Statistics.
